Between 1927 and 1962, when shipyards in the United States built ocean liners, the nation's top artists had a hand in their public spaces.
Ballrooms and bars, libraries, lounges, and dining rooms showcased artworks by the likes of Constantin Alajalov, Pierre Bourdelle, Helen Bruton, Willem de Kooning, Gwen Lux, Loren MacIver, Hildreth Meiere, Bernard Perlin, Anton Refregier, and Jean Woodham.
